Program Development

Middle School and Secondary Special Education Programs should be designed to encourage students to be proactive, not dependent. This can be accomplished by developing a support class program with a properly designed test accommodations venue. This highly successful combination eliminates student dependency on Inclusion Teachers. When taken out of the general education classrooms, Special Education Teachers can become academic support specialists. They teach students how to learn, how to apply their knowledge to classroom tests, and how to prepare for NYS Regents Examinations.
