The Thursday Sheet Program
Many students with attention deficits and other neurobiological disorders cannot meet their daily school-related responsibilities without experiencing confusion and stress. They do not connect stimuli in the environment with responses that are required of them. This condition may be due to the presence of metacognitive deficits, which hinder the children's ability to develop, reflect upon, and internalize plans of action.
For their work, adults earn recognition - a salary, a pay raise, a bonus, a job advancement. In the same way, students must learn to earn their "pay" - free time, play, special privileges, and experiences - rather than take their pay for granted.
Prior to participating in The Thursday Sheet Program, the parent and child must arrange for a consultation with Dr. Fleisher.
